Any one interested in the history of the Lockarts just have to google it they have a fantastic and very colourful past if you google history of the lee penny you will find a very real story.

The Lee Penny is
about this amulet brought back from the crusades by Sir Simon Lockart which has healing powers for all types of ailments and diseases, cities and towns used to borrow it in times of epidemics to dip in the waters and cure their livestock.

Its still in the possession of the family, and I believe its in a bank vault somewhere safe, there is also loads of other material about the involvement with Robert the Bruce, have a search its all very interesting and will help to piece together a jigsaw of the Lockarts the Locards the Lokards the Lees the Sinclairs the Grahams, hence the crypt in the bluebell woods or as we call it the Generals wood where lies Sir Alexander Simon Graham Sinclair Lockart and his french wife Emily Udny Brebner.

Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria, gave Count James Lockhart a gold snuffbox in 1789.

The Lee Penny is now kept in the Gold Snuff box
